MONTE CARLO NIGHT CANCELLED
The Nauss Tim-Br Mart Lumberjacks regret to announce that they have cancelled their Monte Carlo Night scheduled for this coming Saturday evening. A number of unforseen factors have prompted this decision. The Lumberjacks apologize for the confusion and look forward to the opening of our Play-Offs in early March.

DAVID VS GOLIATH AT BRIDGEWATER FRIDAY NIGHT
At first gance, Friday nights' MJAHL game between the Woodstock Slammers & the Nauss Tim-Br Mart Lumberjacks looked like trouble for the home side. The Slammers sported the best record in the MJAHL and only had three losses. They were chasing the record for most wins set in 2002-03 by the Charlottetown Abbies. On the other side, the Lumberjacks were checking their roster to see who was healthy enough to play. Still out with injuries were: Jake Lewis, Matt Snow & Matt Fitzgibbons. Following the Lumberjacks loss, Thursday night in New Glasgow, Anthony Pisano & Andrew Wigg were added to the list of walking wounded. It would be up to the rest of the players to dig deep and battle tough. That is exactly what the Lumberjacks did early on. Shawn Frank, Matt Doudelet & Mickey MacDonald put the Lumberjacks ahead 3-1 after two periods of play.
Things may have begun to change when Taite Paul took a major penalty + game misconduct late in the second period. The Lumberjacks game plan had to change as they switched to their penalty kill mode. They worked hard and were successful in killing off the major, which spanned late second and early third periods. But it really tired out many of the key players. The Lumberjacks still hung tough until the 10:51 mark of the third period when the Slammers offence ingnited a four goals in less than three minutes outrburst and an empty net goal at 19:37 sealed the win. Finasl 6-4 Slammers. The Slammers outshot the Lumberjacks 34-26, with Travis Hall in nets for the Lumberjacks. Shawn Frank, with a goal and two assists, was selected the game's third star.
The Lumberjacks return to action Sunday afternoon when they host the Miramichi Timberwolves for a 3:30 PM tilt.
