LUMBERJACKS ADVANCE TO MJAHL QUARTER-FINALS

The Nauss Tim-Br Mart Lumberjacks broke open a close game with five unanswered third period goals to drop the Amherst Ramblers 8-3 and take the best-of-three mini-series two games to none. The Lumberjacks responded well to the coaches, in the third period, playing a disciplined period and exploding on offence. Mickey MacDonald, the game`s first star collected four assists to pace the winners. Jordan Burke, the game's second star scored twice. Captain Jeff Marchand, the game's third star,  added two goals and an assist. Shawn Frank chipped in with three assists. Jake Lewis, RD Chisholm & Anthony Pisano had two point nights.  Goal scorers for the Lumberjacks were: Marchand (2), Burke (2),  Lewis, Chisholm, Pisano & Sam Labenski. The Lumberjacks power-play was strong converting three of their six opportunities.  The Lumberjacks now move on to the best-of-seven quarter-final series against the Bent Division champions, the Truro Bearcats. The series opens Saturday night, in  Truro. The rest of the Play-Off dates will be released as soon as they are confirmed.

The Lumberjacks are organizing a bus trip to Amherst tomorrow Thu., March 4th for game two of the Bent Division Mini Series against the Ramblers. The bus will leave Bridgewater 3pm and the ticket price is $20/person. Contact Bruce Clevelant at 212-1050 to book your seats.

LUMBERJACKS TAKE GAME ONE OF MINI-SERIES

The Nauss Tim-Br Mart Lumberjacks opened their best of three mini series against the Amherst Ramblers Tuesday night at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena. Shawn Frank took charge and powered the Lumberjacks to a 5-2 win. Frank had one goal and four assists. Linemate Mickey MacDonald also had a big night with a goal and three assists. Jeff Marchand, Jordan Burke and R.D. Chisholm added a goal each. Philip Wright turned aside 31 shots for the win. Game two goes Thursday night in Amherst at 7:30 PM.

LUMBERJACKS - RAMBLERS MINI-SERIES SET

The MJAHL mini-series will feature the Amherst Ramblers and our own Nauss Tim-Br Mart Lumberjacks. The best of three series opens Tuesday night in Bridgewater. Game time is 7:00 PM. The second game is set for Thursday night in Amherst. Game time is 7:30 PM. Game number three, if necessary, is in Bridgewater. The day and time will be confirmed Monday.

TRURO RALLIES FOR 4-3 WIN OVER LUMBERJACKS

The Nauss Tim-Br Mart Lumberjacks took a 3-1 lead into the third period against the Bent Division Champion Truro Bearcats. But the Bearcats came out flying in the third period, outshooting the Lumberjacks 19-6 and outscoring them 3-0. Jeff Marchand, Mike Snow & Jordan Burke scored for the Lumberjacks. Philip Wright turned aside 43 of 47 shots in the Lumberjacks net. The Lumberjacks now wait to see if they maintain their third place or drop to fourth and the mini-series.
