Owner Ken Petrie is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Nelson as the new president of the Nauss Tim-Br Mart Lumberjacks. Nelson succeeds Fred Squarey who left the position in May, due to work commitments. Fred served as the team’s President in its’ first two years and was instrumental in getting a Junior A team to locate in Bridgewater. The Lumberjacks wish to thank Fred for his time and effort on behalf of the organization. Fred will remain as one of our very important volunteers. Lumberjacks lose game four, series is tied again

It was a nail-biter at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena where over 1100 fans gathered to cheer on the Naus Tim-Br Mart Lumberjacks going against the Bearcats for the fourth time.

Jordan Burke opened the scored for the Lumberjacks but they were not able to go in to the intermission with the lead. Hawes tied the game for the Bearcats 3 minutes later. Matt Doudelet gave the Lumberjacks the go ahead goal early in the 2nd frame but again the lead was short lived. Ivanko scored on the powerplay and he deadlocked the game.

The game stayed tied until the 12:00 minute of the 3rd period when Fraser got the game winning goal for the Bearcats. The last goal of the game came from Ivanko and was an empty netter.

Philip Wright had another solid performance and earned the 3rd star of the game. Action continues Sunday, 7:30pm at Truro with game five of the series.
